OVERVIEW
SAP Business One is widely used by small and mid-sized companies in Oman, often across trading, distribution and light manufacturing. Under Fawtara, every A/R invoice, credit memo and down payment invoice it produces must be issued as a PINT OM e-invoice through an accredited service provider.
We connect Business One using the Service Layer or DI API, depending on your version and whether you run on SQL Server or SAP HANA. E-invoices are created from posted documents, and their status is written back to user-defined fields so your team can see it on the document itself.
Business One databases often hold customer and item data that has grown over many years. We check VAT numbers, addresses, units of measure and tax groups before go-live, because clean data is what keeps rejections low.
Most Business One customers will be in the October 2027 phase, which gives time to plan. Starting early also leaves room to upgrade Business One if your version needs it.
CAPABILITIES
Invoices, credit memos and down payment invoices are converted to PINT OM.
Customer VAT numbers and addresses are validated.
Statuses are written back to fields on the B1 document.
Works with both Business One database versions.
COMMON CHALLENGES
These are the issues we see most often. Each one is planned for from the start, so it does not surface in the week before go-live.
01
Some installations need an upgrade before integration.
02
Tax group setup must map clearly to Fawtara categories.
03
Other add-ons may already change invoice data.
04
Long-used databases often hold inconsistent customer data.
THE FAWTARA MODEL
Fawtara, the Oman Tax Authority's e-invoicing programme, uses a Peppol-based five-corner model. Invoices are issued in the PINT OM format and travel through an accredited service provider, which delivers them to the buyer and passes the tax data to the OTA. Invoices cannot be sent from an ERP directly to the OTA.
Step 1
In your ERP, accounting or billing system.
Step 2
Checked against PINT OM and Omani VAT rules.
Step 3
Your accredited service provider exchanges it over Peppol.
Step 4
Delivered to the buyer's own service provider and system.
Step 5
Tax data reaches the Oman Tax Authority through Fawtara.
HOW IT WORKS
We document the systems, data and approvals involved in your invoicing.
Fields, rules and exceptions are defined against PINT OM and Omani VAT rules.
The connection is built and tested with real invoices, including the edge cases.
After go-live, statuses and exceptions are monitored so nothing is missed.

How a posted invoice reaches the buyer as a Fawtara e-invoice.
See It in a Demo →WHY IT MATTERS
Every in-scope invoice is issued in the PINT OM format from your go-live date.
Data is checked before it leaves your system, not after a buyer or the OTA flags it.
E-invoices are stored electronically, ready for audits and OTA requests.
Standard interfaces keep your system's upgrade path clean.
Delivery and rejection statuses are visible in your own system.
E-invoices are triggered when documents are posted.
