UAE E-INVOICING · TECHNICAL
PINT AE is the structured XML format for UAE e-invoices. We map your ERP data to it, validate every invoice and handle the Peppol exchange, so your team never has to build the XML by hand.

OVERVIEW
UAE e-invoices are structured XML documents, not PDFs. They follow PINT AE, the UAE's version of the Peppol International (PINT) invoice model, based on UBL 2.1, with UAE-specific fields and rules defined in the FTA's data dictionary.
Building and maintaining this format in-house takes specialist effort, and the rules are updated over time. Webtel maps your ERP data to PINT AE, validates every invoice against the current specification and keeps the mapping up to date as it changes.
A PINT AE e-invoice describes the seller, the buyer, each line, the tax and the totals in a precise structure, so that the receiving system can read it without human help. Each element follows rules about format, codes and calculations, and the invoice must pass those rules before it can be exchanged.
Because the specification and rules can be updated, maintaining the mapping is an ongoing task. Webtel keeps your mapping aligned with the current version, so changes from the authorities do not become last-minute projects for your team.
CAPABILITIES
Invoices, credit notes and debit notes produced in PINT AE.
ERP fields mapped once to the UAE data dictionary.
Schema and business rules checked before sending.
Mapping updated as the specification evolves.
COMMON CHALLENGES
These are the issues we see most often. Each one is planned for from the start, so it does not surface in the week before go-live.
01
UBL and PINT AE rules need expertise to apply correctly.
02
ERP fields rarely match the PINT AE structure one-to-one.
03
Units, tax categories and other codes must use the correct lists.
04
Specifications evolve and mappings must keep up.
THE UAE MODEL
The UAE uses a decentralised, Peppol-based "five-corner" model. Your invoice is created in your own system, validated and delivered by accredited service providers, and its tax data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) as part of the same exchange.
Step 1
In your ERP, accounting or billing system.
Step 2
Checked against PINT AE and UAE rules.
Step 3
Your accredited service provider (ASP) exchanges it over Peppol.
Step 4
Delivered to the buyer's own service provider and system.
Step 5
Tax data is reported to the FTA.
HOW IT WORKS
We document the systems, data and approvals involved in this part of your invoicing.
Fields, rules and exceptions are defined against PINT AE and the UAE data dictionary.
The connection is built and tested with real invoices, including the edge cases.
After go-live, statuses and exceptions are monitored so nothing is missed.
