OVERVIEW
SAP S/4HANA already holds everything a UAE e-invoice needs: customer master data, tax codes, amounts and references. The work is in getting that data out in the PINT AE structure, sending it through an accredited service provider (ASP) and bringing the result back into SAP so your team can see what was delivered.
Webtel connects S/4HANA using standard SAP interfaces, such as IDocs, OData services or SAP Integration Suite, chosen to fit your landscape, release and whether you run on-premise or in RISE with SAP. Your billing process stays the same; e-invoicing runs alongside it.
In most S/4HANA landscapes the hardest part is not the technology but the data. Tax codes that were designed for VAT returns do not always map one-to-one to the tax categories a PINT AE invoice needs, customer TRNs are sometimes stored inconsistently, and intercompany or cross-border billing follows its own logic. We start with a review of real billing documents so these gaps are found early, not during go-live week.
We also look at how e-invoicing fits your SAP operations. Who monitors rejected documents, how corrections are raised, and how the e-invoicing status is shown to sales and finance users are agreed before anything is built, so the process works on the first day of your phase and keeps working through month-end peaks.
CAPABILITIES
Billing documents from SD and postings from FI are converted to PINT AE, including corrections.
Buyer TRNs, addresses and tax codes are checked before an invoice leaves SAP.
Delivery and rejection statuses from your ASP are visible against the SAP document.
The connection uses standard interfaces, so your S/4HANA upgrade path stays clean.
COMMON CHALLENGES
These are the issues we see most often. Each one is planned for from the start, so it does not surface in the week before go-live.
01
Existing tax codes may need a clear mapping to UAE e-invoicing tax categories and exemption reasons.
02
Customer TRNs and addresses can be incomplete or held differently in each company code.
03
Standard invoices, credit memos, debit memos, intercompany and down-payment billing all behave differently.
04
E-invoicing has to fit into existing transport, testing and release cycles without disrupting other projects.
THE UAE MODEL
The UAE uses a decentralised, Peppol-based "five-corner" model. Your invoice is created in your own system, validated and delivered by accredited service providers, and its tax data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) as part of the same exchange.
Step 1
In your ERP, accounting or billing system.
Step 2
Checked against PINT AE and UAE rules.
Step 3
Your accredited service provider (ASP) exchanges it over Peppol.
Step 4
Delivered to the buyer's own service provider and system.
Step 5
Tax data is reported to the FTA.
HOW IT WORKS
We check your version, invoice types and where the UAE data fields already live.
Your invoice data is mapped to the PINT AE format and the UAE data dictionary.
We link your system to an accredited service provider and test every invoice type end to end.
You switch on e-invoicing before your phase deadline, with our team on hand.
WORKED EXAMPLE
How a standard customer invoice created in SD becomes a delivered e-invoice.
See It in a Demo →WHY IT MATTERS
Every in-scope billing document is issued as a PINT AE e-invoice from your go-live date.
E-invoices are triggered automatically from your existing billing process.
Status lives in SAP, so finance and sales see the same picture.
Data is validated before it leaves SAP, not after a customer complains.
New company codes and entities can be added to the same setup.
Standard interfaces keep your S/4HANA roadmap open.

FAQS
Not necessarily. Some businesses use SAP's own compliance product and others use an external integration. We assess your release, licences and volumes and recommend the route that fits, including working alongside SAP tools you already have.
No. Invoices are converted and sent after billing, so your billing run completes as it does today. Statuses update in the background.
Yes. Both can be connected to the same e-invoicing flow, which is common during a migration from ECC to S/4HANA.
It depends on the number of company codes, billing types and how clean your data is. We give you a plan with dates after the assessment, aligned to your phase's go-live date.
Yes. If you already use SAP Integration Suite or another middleware, the integration can run through it rather than adding a new tool.
We agree this before go-live. Typically your accounts receivable or billing team sees rejected documents in one list, with the reason and the fix needed.
