OVERVIEW
Logistics and freight businesses invoice per shipment, often with many lines: freight, handling, storage and costs re-billed on behalf of customers. Invoices frequently mix VAT treatments and currencies, which makes accurate e-invoicing more demanding.
Webtel connects your transport or freight management system and your ERP, maps each charge type to the right tax category and sends compliant PINT AE e-invoices automatically, at the volume your operation runs at.
Many logistics companies bill from a transport or freight management system and post summaries to the ERP. Deciding which system issues the legal e-invoice, and making sure the other stays in sync, is one of the first design decisions we help you make.
Freight invoices are also time-sensitive: customers want them quickly after delivery so they can bill their own customers. Automated e-invoicing removes the delays of manual preparation and emailing.
CAPABILITIES
Each shipment's charges converted to a compliant e-invoice.
Standard-rated, zero-rated and other lines mapped correctly.
Foreign-currency invoices with AED tax amounts.
Costs paid on behalf of customers shown and treated correctly.
COMMON CHALLENGES
These are the issues we see most often. Each one is planned for from the start, so it does not surface in the week before go-live.
01
Freight, handling, storage and surcharges on one document.
02
Different charges may be taxed differently on the same invoice.
03
Billing in a TMS while accounting happens in the ERP.
04
Customers inside and outside the UAE, in several currencies.
THE UAE MODEL
The UAE uses a decentralised, Peppol-based "five-corner" model. Your invoice is created in your own system, validated and delivered by accredited service providers, and its tax data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) as part of the same exchange.
Step 1
In your ERP, accounting or billing system.
Step 2
Checked against PINT AE and UAE rules.
Step 3
Your accredited service provider (ASP) exchanges it over Peppol.
Step 4
Delivered to the buyer's own service provider and system.
Step 5
Tax data is reported to the FTA.
