OVERVIEW
TallyPrime is the accounting system of thousands of small and mid-sized UAE businesses. UAE e-invoicing does not require you to leave Tally, but every in-scope sales invoice must also be issued as a PINT AE e-invoice and exchanged through an accredited service provider.
Webtel reads sales vouchers from Tally through its built-in integration interface, adds the UAE e-invoicing data, validates each invoice and sends it on. Any missing details, such as a customer's TRN, are captured in Tally so the data stays in one place.
Tally users are usually small and mid-sized businesses where the accountant also handles VAT, payments and reporting. The e-invoicing setup has to be simple: no separate portal to log in to, no files to upload by hand and a clear signal when something needs fixing.
We set up the connection so that saving a sales voucher is all your accountant needs to do. Any missing information, such as a customer's TRN, is captured in Tally itself, so your ledgers stay the single source of truth for both accounts and e-invoicing.
CAPABILITIES
Sales vouchers and credit notes converted to PINT AE.
Customer TRN and address validated before sending.
Each voucher shows whether its e-invoice was delivered.
Accountants keep working in Tally as usual.
COMMON CHALLENGES
These are the issues we see most often. Each one is planned for from the start, so it does not surface in the week before go-live.
01
Customer ledgers often lack TRNs or full addresses needed for e-invoicing.
02
Tally may run on one office PC, which affects how the connection works.
03
Custom voucher types need mapping to the right UAE invoice types.
04
Accountants need a setup that adds no extra daily work.
THE UAE MODEL
The UAE uses a decentralised, Peppol-based "five-corner" model. Your invoice is created in your own system, validated and delivered by accredited service providers, and its tax data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) as part of the same exchange.
Step 1
In your ERP, accounting or billing system.
Step 2
Checked against PINT AE and UAE rules.
Step 3
Your accredited service provider (ASP) exchanges it over Peppol.
Step 4
Delivered to the buyer's own service provider and system.
Step 5
Tax data is reported to the FTA.
