OVERVIEW
Hospitality businesses bill in many ways: guest folios at check-out, corporate accounts on credit, travel agents and tour operators, and events and banqueting. Guest stays paid by individuals are consumer transactions, but corporate, agent and event billing is business-to-business and falls within UAE e-invoicing.
Webtel connects your property management and back-office systems, routes in-scope city ledger and corporate invoices to e-invoicing, and leaves guest check-out exactly as it is today.
Hotels often run a property management system for guests and a separate ERP or back-office system for finance. City ledger and corporate invoices may be raised in either. We help decide where the e-invoice is issued and keep both systems aligned.
Hospitality businesses also buy from many suppliers, from food and beverage to maintenance. As suppliers go live, their e-invoices can be matched automatically, easing the workload on purchasing and accounts payable teams.
CAPABILITIES
City ledger invoices to companies sent as PINT AE e-invoices.
Agent and operator billing handled automatically.
Event invoices issued and delivered correctly.
Individual guest folios stay as they are.
COMMON CHALLENGES
These are the issues we see most often. Each one is planned for from the start, so it does not surface in the week before go-live.
01
Guest billing in the PMS, finance in the ERP.
02
Individual guests, companies, agents and event organisers.
03
Invoices for groups and events billed to companies.
04
Hotels and outlets with separate entities and TRNs.
THE UAE MODEL
The UAE uses a decentralised, Peppol-based "five-corner" model. Your invoice is created in your own system, validated and delivered by accredited service providers, and its tax data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) as part of the same exchange.
Step 1
In your ERP, accounting or billing system.
Step 2
Checked against PINT AE and UAE rules.
Step 3
Your accredited service provider (ASP) exchanges it over Peppol.
Step 4
Delivered to the buyer's own service provider and system.
Step 5
Tax data is reported to the FTA.
