OVERVIEW

What This Means for You

Odoo is popular with UAE trading and service businesses because it is flexible and quick to roll out. For UAE e-invoicing, each posted customer invoice must also be issued as a PINT AE e-invoice and exchanged through an accredited service provider.

Webtel connects Odoo through its external API, reading posted invoices and credit notes, validating them against UAE rules and sending them on. Your team keeps working in Odoo, and the delivery status appears on each invoice.

Many Odoo installations have been tailored by a partner with custom modules and fields. That flexibility is a strength, but it means e-invoicing must be designed around your specific setup rather than a generic template.

We review your Odoo version, hosting and customisations, map invoices and credit notes to PINT AE, and connect to your accredited service provider. Delivery status is written back to each invoice, so your team never has to leave Odoo to check whether an invoice arrived.

COMMON CHALLENGES

What Usually Gets in the Way

These are the issues we see most often. Each one is planned for from the start, so it does not surface in the week before go-live.

01

Custom modules

Partner-built customisations may store invoice data in non-standard fields.

02

Different hosting options

Odoo Online, Odoo.sh and self-hosted servers each allow different integration methods.

03

Version upgrades

Odoo releases major versions regularly, so the integration must be planned for upgrades.

04

Multi-company databases

Several companies in one database need separate TRNs and numbering.

THE UAE MODEL

How UAE E-Invoicing Works

The UAE uses a decentralised, Peppol-based "five-corner" model. Your invoice is created in your own system, validated and delivered by accredited service providers, and its tax data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) as part of the same exchange.

Step 1

You create the invoice

In your ERP, accounting or billing system.

Step 2

It is validated

Checked against PINT AE and UAE rules.

Step 3

Your provider sends it

Your accredited service provider (ASP) exchanges it over Peppol.

Step 4

The buyer receives it

Delivered to the buyer's own service provider and system.

Step 5

The FTA is informed

Tax data is reported to the FTA.

HOW IT WORKS

From Your ERP to the FTA in Four Steps

01

Assess your system

We check your version, invoice types and where the UAE data fields already live.

02

Map the data

Your invoice data is mapped to the PINT AE format and the UAE data dictionary.

03

Connect and test

We link your system to an accredited service provider and test every invoice type end to end.

04

Go live with support

You switch on e-invoicing before your phase deadline, with our team on hand.
