OVERVIEW
Trading and distribution businesses issue more invoices than almost any other sector, often hundreds or thousands a day, with credit notes for returns, rebates and price adjustments close behind. Under UAE e-invoicing, every in-scope B2B invoice and credit note must be issued in PINT AE and exchanged through an accredited service provider.
Webtel sets up e-invoicing to run in the background of your billing. Invoices flow automatically from your ERP, exceptions are flagged before they reach a customer, and your team only steps in when something needs attention.
Traders also receive large numbers of supplier invoices. Once your suppliers go live, those invoices will arrive as e-invoices too, which is an opportunity to automate matching against purchase orders and goods receipts instead of keying them in.
Because margins in trading are tight, small errors such as a wrong customer TRN or a rounding difference can create disputes and delay payment. Validating every invoice before it is sent removes many of those everyday frictions.
CAPABILITIES
Thousands of invoices sent automatically, with no manual upload.
Credit notes linked correctly to the original invoices.
Foreign-currency sales with AED tax amounts handled correctly.
E-invoicing runs alongside delivery notes, not in front of them.
COMMON CHALLENGES
These are the issues we see most often. Each one is planned for from the start, so it does not surface in the week before go-live.
01
Thousands of invoices a day leave no room for manual steps.
02
Returns, damages, rebates and price changes generate many credit notes.
03
Large customer bases often have missing or outdated TRNs.
04
Sales in several currencies and to customers across the GCC.
THE UAE MODEL
The UAE uses a decentralised, Peppol-based "five-corner" model. Your invoice is created in your own system, validated and delivered by accredited service providers, and its tax data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) as part of the same exchange.
Step 1
In your ERP, accounting or billing system.
Step 2
Checked against PINT AE and UAE rules.
Step 3
Your accredited service provider (ASP) exchanges it over Peppol.
Step 4
Delivered to the buyer's own service provider and system.
Step 5
Tax data is reported to the FTA.
