OVERVIEW
The UAE mandate covers business-to-business and business-to-government transactions, so most everyday consumer sales are not in the first phases. But retailers and online sellers usually have a significant B2B side: corporate orders, wholesale customers, franchisees and the invoices they receive from suppliers.
Webtel maps every sales channel you run, from point of sale and webshop to wholesale and corporate accounts, and sets up e-invoicing for the transactions that need it, while your consumer checkout stays exactly as it is.
Retail groups often operate several legal entities: store companies, an e-commerce company and a wholesale arm. Each one may have different customers and invoice types, so the first step is a clear map of which entity issues which invoices and to whom.
On the purchasing side, retailers deal with many suppliers and brand owners. As those suppliers go live, their invoices will arrive as e-invoices, which helps automate matching and speeds up supplier payments.
CAPABILITIES
Each channel is reviewed so you know exactly what is in scope.
B2B orders issued as PINT AE e-invoices automatically.
Consumer sales and receipts keep working as they do today.
E-invoices from suppliers received and matched in your system.
COMMON CHALLENGES
These are the issues we see most often. Each one is planned for from the start, so it does not surface in the week before go-live.
01
The same business sells to consumers and to companies through different channels.
02
Stores, e-commerce and wholesale may sit in separate companies.
03
Large supplier bases mean many incoming invoices to process.
04
POS, e-commerce and ERP systems all hold part of the picture.
THE UAE MODEL
The UAE uses a decentralised, Peppol-based "five-corner" model. Your invoice is created in your own system, validated and delivered by accredited service providers, and its tax data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) as part of the same exchange.
Step 1
In your ERP, accounting or billing system.
Step 2
Checked against PINT AE and UAE rules.
Step 3
Your accredited service provider (ASP) exchanges it over Peppol.
Step 4
Delivered to the buyer's own service provider and system.
Step 5
Tax data is reported to the FTA.
