OVERVIEW

What This Means for You

Consulting, legal, audit, engineering and IT firms bill on time, milestones or retainers, often with disbursements re-charged at cost. Most of their clients are businesses, so most of their invoices fall within UAE e-invoicing.

Webtel connects your practice management or project billing system, maps fees, retainers and disbursements correctly, and sends PINT AE e-invoices automatically, so partners and finance teams can keep billing the way they do today.

Professional firms bill from time and expense systems, project tools or practice management software, and invoices are often reviewed by partners before they are issued. E-invoicing must respect that review step and only send invoices once they are final.

Clients increasingly expect accurate, structured invoices they can process automatically. E-invoicing helps firms get paid faster by removing format issues and making sure every invoice reaches the client's accounts payable system.

COMMON CHALLENGES

What Usually Gets in the Way

These are the issues we see most often. Each one is planned for from the start, so it does not surface in the week before go-live.

01

Partner review

Invoices change during review and must only be sent once final.

02

Mixed billing models

Time-based, fixed-fee and milestone billing in the same firm.

03

Disbursements

Costs re-charged to clients need consistent treatment.

04

International clients

Clients inside and outside the UAE with different rules.

THE UAE MODEL

How UAE E-Invoicing Works

The UAE uses a decentralised, Peppol-based "five-corner" model. Your invoice is created in your own system, validated and delivered by accredited service providers, and its tax data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) as part of the same exchange.

Step 1

You create the invoice

In your ERP, accounting or billing system.

Step 2

It is validated

Checked against PINT AE and UAE rules.

Step 3

Your provider sends it

Your accredited service provider (ASP) exchanges it over Peppol.

Step 4

The buyer receives it

Delivered to the buyer's own service provider and system.

Step 5

The FTA is informed

Tax data is reported to the FTA.

FAQS

Common Questions

Can you connect our practice management system?+

Yes. We connect the system where your invoices are created, whether that is a practice management tool, a PSA platform or your ERP.

How are clients outside the UAE handled?+

Invoices to clients outside the UAE follow specific rules. We review each scenario against current FTA guidance and set them up accordingly.

Does this change how partners approve invoices?+

No. Your approval steps stay the same; e-invoices are sent only after an invoice is approved and issued.

Can we keep sending invoices by email too?+

Yes. You can still share a readable copy by email; the PINT AE e-invoice is the legal document for in-scope transactions.

How are write-downs handled?+

Write-downs after an invoice is issued are handled with a credit note sent as an e-invoice.

Do retainers need special treatment?+

Retainer and advance invoices are mapped as their own scenarios, and later applied against final invoices.
