OVERVIEW
Once e-invoicing is live, the tax authority sees your invoice data as it is exchanged. Any difference between your ERP, the e-invoices actually delivered and your VAT return becomes easy to spot, for you and for the FTA.
Webtel sets up automated reconciliation between your ERP, the e-invoices sent and received through your service provider and your VAT records. Differences are flagged with a reason, so your finance team can resolve them well before filing.
Reconciliation is most valuable when it is routine. A monthly run, with a short list of differences to resolve, is far easier than a large investigation before a VAT return or an audit. Each difference comes with a likely cause, so your team knows where to look.
The same approach supports audits. A clear trail from the ERP document to the e-invoice and the VAT return makes it easier to answer questions from auditors or the FTA, with evidence ready rather than assembled under pressure.
CAPABILITIES
ERP, e-invoices and VAT records compared side by side.
Each difference shown with the likely reason.
Run monthly or quarterly ahead of your VAT return.
A clear trail from ERP document to e-invoice to return.
COMMON CHALLENGES
These are the issues we see most often. Each one is planned for from the start, so it does not surface in the week before go-live.
01
ERP, service provider records and VAT returns must agree.
02
Invoices posted in one period but delivered in another.
03
Credit notes without matching originals.
04
Spreadsheet reconciliations take time and miss issues.
THE UAE MODEL
The UAE uses a decentralised, Peppol-based "five-corner" model. Your invoice is created in your own system, validated and delivered by accredited service providers, and its tax data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) as part of the same exchange.
Step 1
In your ERP, accounting or billing system.
Step 2
Checked against PINT AE and UAE rules.
Step 3
Your accredited service provider (ASP) exchanges it over Peppol.
Step 4
Delivered to the buyer's own service provider and system.
Step 5
Tax data is reported to the FTA.
HOW IT WORKS
We document the systems, data and approvals involved in this part of your invoicing.
Fields, rules and exceptions are defined against PINT AE and the UAE data dictionary.
The connection is built and tested with real invoices, including the edge cases.
After go-live, statuses and exceptions are monitored so nothing is missed.
