E-Invoicing for Oman
UNDERSTAND THE REQUIREMENTS
Fawtara is the Oman Tax Authority's (OTA) national e-invoicing programme, built on the Peppol framework. Invoices are created in a structured format, validated and exchanged between the supplier's and buyer's accredited service providers, while tax data is reported to the OTA.
Business-to-business invoices are exchanged electronically in real time. For business-to-consumer sales, customers receive a readable invoice with a QR code, and the tax data is reported to the OTA within 24 hours.

FAQS
Fawtara applies to VAT-registered businesses in Oman, introduced in phases. A pilot group of large taxpayers starts from August 2026, followed by other large taxpayers and then all remaining VAT-registered businesses. The OTA notifies each group ahead of its date.
Yes. Businesses do not connect to the Fawtara network directly. You select an accredited service provider through the Fawtara portal, and it exchanges your invoices over Peppol and reports tax data to the OTA. We connect your systems to your provider and manage the setup.
Your customer receives a readable invoice with a QR code, and the invoice's tax data is reported to the OTA within 24 hours.
Invoices and VAT records must be kept for 10 years, and the OTA platform does not archive them for you. We help you set up compliant archiving as part of the rollout.
